Gavin was named the Boston Globe’s “Fund Manager of the Year” in 2014 and his performance was recognized in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Barron’s, and Investor’s Business Daily.
Prior to this, Gavin managed several funds at Fidelity in sectors ranging from telecommunications, wireless, and pharmaceuticals. Under his leadership, both Fidelity Select Pharmaceuticals and Fidelity Select Telecommunications outperformed in bear markets.
Gavin earned a degree in History and Economics from Dartmouth College in 1999.
He is married to Becky Painter, who is also an analyst and portfolio manager and currently works at Fidelity Investments. Gavin enjoys heli-skiing, playing video games and reading science fiction and fantasy novels.
