Prior to founding Atreides in January 2019, Gavin worked at Fidelity Investments for eighteen years, most recently as the portfolio manager for the $17-billion Fidelity OTC Fund. During his 8 year tenure, the fund outperformed over 99% of its Morningstar peers, compounded at roughly 19.3% annually net of fees and won 6 Lipper Awards. Gavin was named the Boston Globe’s “Fund Manager of the Year” in 2014 and his performance was recognized in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal (see Gavin Baker in The Wall Street Journal), Forbes, Barron’s, and Investor’s Business Daily.
Gavin earned a degree in History and Economics from Dartmouth College in 1999. He enjoys heli-skiing, playing video games and reading science fiction and fantasy novels.
